Well, guess I’d like to start off by saying doodlers, prepare yourselves, there’s been a lot blogspot/tumblr users taking doodles and using them on their blogspot as banners, pictures, etc.
I’d noticed these for the past month, my tracker shows where people come from when they visit my blog and a lot of them lately have been from these blogspots. So I go and check it out, see artist’s doodles on there but didn’t think much of…kind of assumed they permission from the artists.
Come on today and see Marionette- ‘s post about hers and jeansbeans art being used on a blogspot and that when I decided, well shit, these are thefts, it’s time to crack down.
Not longer after my further investigation I come across my art being used on 2 blogspots, credits taken off:
Even funnier, one of the doodles of mine that was taken was an art theft awareness one!
So…I’m not happy guys. I usually don’t get uptight about this, it’s known doodles will be taken and reposted. Okay, fine, as long as you leave my watermark/signature/whatever on there and credit me, it’s cool; but if you use off tumblr, don’t notify me, and erase my signature off of there it does bother me.
I don’t know who’s idea it was in the first place to start these little art theft blogspots but you’d better stop, I will report you guys and not just ones with my doddles being used without permission but this goes for my fellow doodlers also. This is pretty disrespectful.
If you want art/banners made for your blogspot JUST ASK or at least message me saying “Hey, may I use your doodle -insert blogname/website/whatever-?”
And I’ll most likely say yes. But taking without asking is art theft.
